Frequently Asked Questions

How can I book in?

The easiest way to book in with an artist is to give us a call and book a consultation to discuss your tattoo at the studio. Our consultations are free of charge and offer the opportunity to talk through your ideas and receive advice from our artists.

Alternatively, you can email the shop with details of the piece you would like, not forgetting to include the name of your preferred artist, reference images, approximate size of the tattoo and location on the body. We will respond to let you know if a further consultation is necessary and proceed with your booking.

All tattoo appointments must be secured by leaving a minimum £50 deposit, which will later be deducted from the cost of your tattoo. Payments can be made in cash or via PayPal (please do not send funds via PayPal until you have discussed your booking with the team).

What is your recommended aftercare advice?

Please refer to our aftercare guide here for tattoo care. For piercing aftercare, please click here.

How old to get pierced or tattooed?

The law states clearly that you MUST be over 18 to receive a tattoo. You will be required to present a legitimate form of photo ID (Passport, Driver’s License, or Citizen Card) when you arrive for your appointment (photocopies and non-photographic ID will not be accepted). To avoid disappointment or delay, please ensure that you are ready to present your ID prior to your appointment.

Piercings (with the exception of surface piercing, dermal anchors, nipple piercings and genital piercings, for which you must be over 18) may be carried out on persons aged 16 and over. You MUST be prepared to present legitimate photo ID; parental consent is not accepted.

We may take a copy of your ID for our records. Angelic Hell Tattoo treat all confidential papers with great care and will never share details with any other parties.

How can I book in with a guest artist?

Please use the guest artist calendar and contact your chosen artist directly, unless otherwise stated.

How much will my tattoo cost?

Price will depend on the piece and as we offer custom tattooing, we do not have a price list. Please contact us for a no obligation quote; note that in some circumstances you will be required to come to the shop for a consultation before we can offer a price.

How should I prepare for my appointment?

Make sure you have eaten and keep hydrated. We are happy to provide refreshments and a sugary sweet if required during your appointment. Please note that you may not bring food or drinks into the tattoo area unless approved by the team.

Please ensure that you are clean and that the area to be tattooed has been washed prior to your appointment.

Please do not use a numbing cream or gel prior to your appointment unless otherwise agreed between you and your artist at consultation.

Please do not apply fake tan prior to your appointment, and take care to avoid sunburn before getting tattooed.

We reserve the right to refuse service to anybody under the influence of alcohol or drugs, and strongly advise not to drink heavily the night before your appointment.

Suitability for the tattoo process?

You will be asked to fill a consent form before getting tattooed or pierced at the shop.

Conditions such as haemophilia, any condition causing seizures or which compromise your immune system may mean you are unable to be tattooed. We are unable to tattoo women who are pregnant or breastfeeding.

We cannot tattoo areas of skin which suffer severe eczema or psoriasis.

You are obliged to let us know if you have HIV/Hepatitis. We have the highest standards of infection control and will be happy to carry out your tattoo but will offer extra aftercare advise in these instances.

How can I pay for my deposit or tattoo?

Deposits can be paid in cash or by card in the studio.

Please do not send PayPal funds until you have discussed your booking with us.
